About…
I’m Robert DelRossi, a repatriated New Englander back home after a bunch of years working in the Las Vegas desert in the gaming industry (as in casinos, not Xbox). You can see my résumé here or download a PDF version.
From the beginning, I’ve been fortunate to have worked with some very smart people in my career. After graduating from Boston University, I landed my first job as a computer programmer for a Liberty Mutual subsidiary. I’ve been in executive management roles in technical firms since 1996. More recently I hav been a Chief Operating Officer, which encompasses so much of what happens in our business day-to-day. But I’ve never really left technology too far behind in all I do and all I think about.

From 1996 to 2002 I had the great fortune to work at TurboPower Software Company in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I’m especially proud to have been its president starting in 1998. TurboPower built software libraries and tools for software developers. Out customers used TurboPower libraries to add communications capabilities, encryption, compression, and other kinds of features to their own works. Our products won many industry awards and yielded us happy, loyal customers from around the world.

In 2002 I entered the casino gaming industry as Vice President of R&D and later as Global Chief Technology Officer with Aristocrat Leisure Limited, an Australian-based company that is the world’s top manufacturer of casino gaming equipment and back-office systems technology. My last role with Aristocrat was as General Manager and Vice President of Global Systems and Networks.
In 2007 I became Chief Operating Officer at Rocket Gaming Systems in Las Vegas, a manufacturer committed to the very best in Class II and Washington-based Class III gaming technology for casinos owned and operated by Native American tribes.
In each of these roles, I had the pleasure to be surrounded by smart, passionate people who strived to offer the very best products, service, and support.

In 2018 I joined the board of directors of Gamblit Gaming, LLC, which specializes in a new kind of casino gaming, one that capitalizes on new regulations that invite players to use their skills to effect the outcome of the game.
Other Interests
Apart from work I have some fairly varied interests. I write about them here, but it’s hard to put a neat bow around them with a tidy description. On this web site I hope you will find articles and links to things I find interesting, including topics such as:
- Management and Leadership
- Technology and Gadgets
- Psychology and Ethics
- Food, Cooking, and Health
- Music (of all kinds) and the Business of Radio
- Major League Baseball and, in particular, the Boston Red Sox
- Books and Reading
- Language and Writing
- The application of technology to all my interests
- And that loveliest of catch-alls, “Things I find interesting”
Everything you find here reflects my thoughts and can in no way be attributed to my employers, family, friends, or anyone else.
Let’s Talk!
Happy to hear from you. You can email me right from this web site
You can also find many of my interests regularly in my Twitter feed, where I’m @rdelrossi. During the Major League Baseball season I tweet liberally about the sport and, in particular about Red Sox Nation as @RSNStats. As a hobby, I also post longer-form content for Red Sox fans like myself on the RSNStats.com web site.
You can also find me on LinkedIn, though my content there is mostly focused on business issues as befits that site. To a far lesser degree I’m on Facebook and Instagram.
Disclosure
I’ve experimented here with some limited advertising on this site, in large part for the pleasure of understanding how this technology works.
When I post links to product pages on Amazon or other online stores, my links may include a referral code so that when products are purchased through my links, I may receive a small percentage of the sale. While the amount that I receive is small, it does help to defray some of the cost of maintaining this site, and gives me a small vested interest in having my readers purchase products using these links.
The fact that I might receive this form compensation does not, in my view, affect what I say or do not say on my website. This is kind of a “chicken and egg” situation. I’ve posted these recommendations to products based on what I like; I am not posting links to things I do not like in order to earn a few cents in compensation. If you don’t care for this arrangement, just skip the links and shop on your own.
